Porter signs one-year, two-way deal with St. Louis

Chris Porter has a new two-way deal with the St. Louis Blues. The 28-year-old, who spent nine years in Thunder Bay during his childhood, played a career-high 47 games for the Blues in 2011-12, scoring four times and adding three assists.

The  28-year-old, who spent nine years in Thunder Bay during his childhood, played a career-high 47 games for the Blues in 2011-12, scoring four times and adding three assists.

Porter was an unrestricted free agent, and last week said he had interest from several other clubs, including the Pittsburgh Penguins and Phoenix Coyotes.

Born in Toronto, Porter was originally drafted by the Chicaco Blackhawks in the ninth round in 2003. He was signed by the Blues on Aug. 21, 2007.

Terms of the one-year contract were not released. Porter earned $600,000 with the Blues last season
