The Thunder Bay Sportop Queens had to settle for silver at the Stoney Creek Sabres Showcase, dropping a 3-1 decision on Sunday to the Michigan-based Honeybaked Hockey Club in the tournament final.
Michela Cava scored the lone Thunder Bay goal with 8:40 to go in the third.
Megan Kaster, Logan Taylor and Michelle Manning scored the Honeybaked goals.
Earlier in the day the Queens won twice to advance to the final, defeating Nepean in the quarterfinal and Ottawa in the semifinal.
The Queen’s hit the road in two weeks when they travel south of the border to compete at the St. Cloud State University Showcase.
