Robertson, Hynna to play football for Team Canada

Zach Hynna to play for Canada's U19 squad, while Jake Robertson will play for the U18 team.

THUNDER BAY – A pair of local high school football stars have been selected to play for Team Canada.

Zach Hynna, a Grade 12 student at Hammarskjold High School, will play on the under-19 team, while St. Ignatius’ Jake Robertson will suit up for the under-18 squad.

The one-week training program takes place between Jan. 23 and Jan. 28 in Orlando and includes a one-game championship between Canada and the United States.

“The series has grown tremendously and we’re excited to head to the state of Florida, where the first International Bowl game was held in 2010, and showcase our national team rivalry,” said Shannon Donovan, executive director, Football Canada, in a release.

The Under 18 team will play at the 2017 International Bowl in Arlington, Texas.
