The second-year Lakehead Thunderwolves forward scored twice and added a pair of assists to lead his team to a comfortable 7-4 win over Concordia on Saturday afternoon, completing a weekend road sweep in Montreal.
It marked the seventh straight win for the Wolves, who closed out first-half play with a secure grip on second spot in the OUA West Division.
Devin Welsh had a goal – his career best third of the season – and an assist. Lakehead also got goals from Mike Quesnele, Victor Anilane, Adam Sergerie and Trevor Gamache, opening a 5-0 lead 2:45 into the second period before Kyle Moir allowed a pair Concordia goals to Charles-Antoine Messier and Kyle Kelly.
Alexandre Monahan and George Lovatsis scored third period goals to pull the Stingers within a pair with half a period to go, before Welsh iced it in the final four minutes.
Lakehead will play a pair of exhibitions next weekend at Fort William Gardens against Regina.
