Halfback Kyle Mercier rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown on Thursday, leading St. Patrick to a 22-0 whitewashing of Superior Collegiate in junior boys football play.
Elsewhere QB Jared White threw for 119 yards and a touchdown, and scored one on the ground as Churchill pounded Hammarskjold 34-7.
In the days only other action, St. Ignatius doubled Westgate 14-7, the Tigers lone score coming on a fumble recovery by Cody Sheedy.
In senior girls basketball, Steph Drost had 14 points to lead Churchill to a 39-15 win over Superior, while in junior play Rachel Krukowski had eight as the Trojans earned the hard-court sweep, beating Superior 35-28.
In senior boys volleyball Churchill improved to 7-1 with a 3-0 sweep of Superior. In junior boys play, however, Superior got its only win of the day, edging Churchill 2-1.
