Ryan McDonald was the top Thunder Bay finisher at Monday's Boston Marathon.

The 39-year-old crossed the finish line in 2:55:14, the 1,276th to finish the race.

Marcia Migay was the first local female runner across the line, racing the course in 3:24:33.

Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre vice-president Scott Potts ran the 26-mile course in 3:27:59, while Nathalie Lehto was 10,072, finishing with a 3:36:51 time.

Dougall Media's Kathy Harris was about two minutes behind, completing her race in 3:38:40, while well-known baseball organizer Warren Philp finished in 3:53:42.

Red Rock's Trish Allaire just squeaked under the four-hour mark, posting a time of 3:59:41. Thunder Bay's Deborah Frederickson crossed in just over four hours. Susan McDonald had not finished when tragedy struck.

TB Newswatch is attempting to contact local runners to ensure they weren't injured by the deadly explosions that occurred near the finish line as competitors finished. We have confirmed Lehto, Harris and Allaire are OK.

Police are reporting at least two people are dead and 22 wounded.
