Wolves drop men`s basketball opener to Queen`s

The Lakehead Thunderwolves aren’t used to losing at home.

The Lakehead Thunderwolves aren’t used to losing at home.

But on Friday night that tasted defeat in front of the Thunderdome crowd, decimated by  a poor second-quarter performance that saw them outscored 28-13 en route to a 96-87 defeat at the hands of the visiting Queen’s Golden Gaels.

Yoosrie Salhia topped all Lakehead scorers with 18, but it wasn’t enough to prevent his club from falling below .500 for the second time in two weekends of OUA play.

Ben Johnson finished with 17, while British import Joe Hart bagged 15, including all three shots from beyond the arc.
Greg Faulkner had 22 to lead all scorers.

The Wolves do not play their traditional Saturday night match this weekend, the date lost when RMC dropped out.
