Wolves lanced by Windsor

Thunder Bay’s Kyle Tront had three assists, helping the host Windsor Lancers to an upset 5-1 win over the Lakehead Thunderwolves on Friday night.

Brett Vandehogen, Kyle Lang, Mike Lombardi, Ryan Caiocco and Scott Gillis, who added an assist, did the damage for the Lancers (1-2-0), who picked up their first win of the young OUA season.

Brock McPherson, with his second of the campaign, was the only Lakehead player to find the twine behind Windsor netminder Jim Watt.

Kyle Moir, who only stopped 17 of 22 shots faced, was pulled 3:13 into the third after Windsor scored its fifth and final goal

Lakehead fell to 1-1-1 with the defeat.

The two teams will try it again on Saturday night. The game can be heard in its entirety on Rock 94.
