Carolyn Fragale and Ayse Kalkan may have saved the Lakehead Thunderwolves basketball season.
The dynamic senior duo put up 19 points apiece on Saturday night, leading the Wolves to a 70-65 road win over the Guelph Gryphons (6-11).
The win gives Lakehead, who battles unbeaten Windsor at home next weekend, a two-point edge over Guelph for the sixth and final playoff berth in the OUA West.
Erin Tilley, Erica McFadden and Alexandra Beatty each had 12 points to lead the Gryphons offence. The win for Lakehead (7-10) snapped a three-game losing streak.
