The easy task is in the books. It’s the next round that’s going to take some work. Not that the Guelph Gryphons are a men’s basketball pushover.

The test will only get tougher going forward for the Lakehead Thunderwolves. But if Jylisa Williams can keep putting up 40-plus points, it’ll make the task a little easier.

Jennifer Jackson, who skis for the National Development Centre-Thunder Bay team, has won Canada Winter Games gold. Jackson, a student at Lakehead University, won the woman’s cross-country sprint race in a time of 3:50.

It’s a bruised and battered Lakehead Thunderwolves squad that will take to the court on Wednesday night to open the OUA women’s basketball playoffs.
