Olivia Pietrangelo loves solving problems. When she graduated from Algoma University in 2015 in Sault Ste. Marie with an honours Bachelor of Science in Biology, she began looking for grad programs to further her education.

“When I graduated from university I had to make a decision for my future. I was at a crossroads at that time, trying to decide whether I wanted to pursue a master’s in a healthcare related field with the ultimate goal of working in medicine or going to law school.”

Olivia came to Thunder Bay in early 2016 and studied at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law. By her second year she knew she wanted to stay in Thunder Bay.

She graduated in May 2020 and was called to the bar in October 2020.

Humble work

Outside of work Olivia enjoys the Thunder Bay scenes and does so by taking advantage of the different seasons. With running, hiking and snowshoeing as her favourite hobbies she’s connected to the people and the city.

A trait not always easy to find when looking for someone to assist with your problems, Olivia believes solving a client’s problems is what’s at the core of her practice as a lawyer.

“I made the decision to practice law because I knew it would be a career that would be challenging and rewarding.”

Olivia practices with Larson Lawyers as an associate lawyer focusing on Wills, Estates and Real Estate.

Her favourite part about Larson Lawyers is her co-workers.

“Everyone I work with is just so awesome,” she beams, “I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to work with and I know that if I need guidance there will always be someone there for me.”

A lifelong practice

Growing up, Olivia says her family always knew she’d end up down the path of problem solving.

“It was a combination of my family telling me for almost all my life that I would make a good lawyer and my desire to help people solve their problems. I love solving problems for my clients.”

Even though she’s still in the process of finding her bearings, Olivia's goal is to continue to grow as a person because, she says, in law there are a lot of things to learn, especially for her as a new lawyer.

Olivia is just beginning her career of solving clients’ problems and by beginning her career with a best-foot-forward mindset for both her and her clients, she is a winning problem-solver in the world of law in Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario.
