To the editor: I was appalled to learn that qualities such as competency, efficiency, empathy and professionalism were being judged on the bases of a chosen uniform.

We are writing to express our concern regarding the statements in the media regarding the five police officers who recently received medals for bravery.

In 2009 the CBC and local CBC Thunder Bay were facing significant job and service underfunding. There was a substantial community and regional outcry about this.

To the edtior: A few years ago nurses looked professional, took pride in how they looked. Today most of them look like they don't give a darn how they look. I think this attitude is attained while going to school.

To the editor: The more I read, about the proposed event centre, the more confused I become. First, it was an events center arena, for which the senior levels of government nixed for funding.

To the editor:? I want all these people who are for this event center to put there money where their mouth is and start a funding campaign.

On April 9, I attended a presentation organized by The Council of Canadians regarding Energy East's plan to have their pipeline run through our region, our lakes and our rivers.
