COVID outbreak at St. Joseph’s Hospital declared over

An outbreak of COVID-19 at the St. Joseph’s Hospital was declared over Monday, while 10 others remained active in high-risk settings across the district.

THUNDER BAY – An outbreak of COVID-19 at the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Thunder Bay has been declared over, the Thunder Bay District Health Unit reports.

The outbreak, which impacted the hospital’s 3 South – Rehabilitative Care Services wing, was first reported on Sept. 8.

The health unit was tracking 10 outbreaks of COVID-19 in high-risk settings across the Thunder Bay District as of Monday, according to its website.

That included outbreaks at the Southbridge Roseview, Southbridge Lakehead, and Hogarth Riverview Manor long-term care homes, the Wilson Memorial General Hospital in Marathon, and other locations not publicly disclosed by the health unit.
