Police say they don't believe the explosives are active, but have taped off the area as a precaution while they investigate further.

THUNDER BAY -- City police are asking the public to stay away from the 100 block of Marlborough Street after work crews working nearby unearthed possible explosives.

First responders were dispatched at 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday.

Police, in a release, say the explosives are not believed to be live, but police have taped off the area while they investigate to ensure it's safe.
