Homicide suspect arrested following police standoff

One man is facing s second-degree murder charge following a standoff.

THUNDER BAY -- City police have arrested a suspect connected to a McMillan Street homicide investigation following a standoff on the city’s northside Thursday.

Thunder Bay police and the Primary Response Unit were dispatched to the area of the 200 block of Blucher Avenue on Thursday, Aug. 11 around 2:45 p.m. following reports of a disturbance.

Police said this led to a standoff, which concluded with the arrest of the male suspect at about 8:45 p.m.

Justin Randy Dave COASTER, 32, of Thunder Bay, is charged with Second Degree Murder in connection with the death of Charlie Joseph FINLAYSON, 37, of Thunder Bay.

He is scheduled to appear in bail court on Friday, Aug. 12.
