Police seize cocaine, marijuana and hash after two searches

Police say they’ve seized nearly $200,000 worth of narcotics following two raids in the city.

Police say they’ve seized nearly $200,000 worth of narcotics following two raids in the city.

Officials with the Thunder Bay Police Service say drug enforcement officers, assisted by the guns and gangs unit and uniformed patrol, conducted two searches Wednesday.

The first search warrant targeted a home in the 400 block of Hazelwood Drive, while the second focused on a business in the 100 block of Frederica Street West.

As a result of those searches, police were able to seize about 1,300 grams of cocaine, 1,800 grams of marijuana and 500 grams of hashish.

The street value of the drugs is estimated to be about $177,400.

Police also found about $1,600 in Canadian cash.


Accused Sean William Leiville, 30, of Thunder Bay was arrested and taken into custody.

Leiville was held in custody and appeared in Thunder Bay court on Thursday. He faces the following charges:

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking sec 5(2) CDSA
• Possession of Marijuana for the Purpose of Trafficking sec 5(2) CDSA
• Possession of Cannabis Resin (Hash) for the Purpose of Trafficking sec 5(2) CDSA
• Proceeds of Crime not exceeding $5,000.00 sec 354(1)(a) CC
