A temporary single lane modular bridge ‎will remain in place with traffic control at the Pic River Bridge on Highway 17. The Gravel River Bridge on Highway 17, located east of Nipigon, will be reduced to a single lane with temporary concrete barriers and traffic signals over the winter.

Work at these two structures is expected to be completed in the 2016 construction season.

The ministry is erecting additional advance signage to provide adequate early warning to approaching traffic to each structure.  Police will enforce reduced speed zones.

In addition, the Area Maintenance Contractor will be concentrating their maintenance efforts at the structures to ensure the approaches and the single lane access is bare.

In a release, the ministry apologizes for the inconvenience and points out Highway 11 is also available as an alternate route for heavy truck traffic.
