NIPIGON, Ont. -- Seventeen hours after an expansion joint split on the new Nipigon River Bridge, Trans-Canada traffic is flowing again.

City council will bring forth a resolution on Monday night to appoint a permanent replacement for retired city manager Tim Commisso. Norm Gale has been filling the role on an interim basis since Commisso stepped down this past October.

MARATHON -- In the case of health emergencies east of the closed Nipigon River Bridge, Superior North Emergency Medical Services is coordinating a regional approach.

GERALDTON -- The closure of the TransCanada Highway at the Nipigon River Bridge has prompted Greenstone to declare a State of Emergency. Deputy Mayor Eric Pietsch declared the State of Emergency at 6:10 p.m.

VANCOUVER - There is one winning ticket for the $7-million jackpot in Saturday night's Lotto 6-49 draw. The ticket was sold somewhere in the Welland, Ont., area. The jackpot for the next draw on Wednesday night will be $5-million.
