Another fire in the Westfort area is under investigation. Arson is suspected in an early morning garage fire in the 500 block of East Empire Avenue. Fast work by Thunder Bay Fire and Rescue firefighters contained the damage to that building.

While its only three months old, a local program to curb chronic alcoholism appears to be providing a bit of relief. The Shelter House’s alcohol management program’s two-year pilot project started at the end of March.
