OTTAWA - It was always supposed to be a memorable night in Ottawa — it just turned out differently than expected.

It took eight shooters on each side to get the job done, but in the end the Minnesota Iron Rangers managed to outlast the Thunder Bay North Stars and earn a 4-3 shootout win on Wednesday night.
