Lakehead’s men’s basketball team continues to hover in the top 10 hinterland. The Thunderwolves, who split a weekend set against Brock last weekend, once again were on the outside looking in when the CIS announced its weekly rankings.

Trevor Bonot, Bryan Burgess and Jeff Currie have the upper hands heading into the final day of men’s west regional curling qualifier. On the line are three spots at the next month’s provincial playdowns.

A three-goal third period was all the hockey Thunderwolves needed to earn yet another weekend split.

Down 19 points in the third quarter, the Lakehead Thunderwolves had no business beating the Brock Badgers Take an inch or so off Joe Hart’s buzzer-beating three-point attempt and that’s exactly what they were poised to do.

Bryan Burgess, Jeff Currie and Trevor Bonot each drew first blood Friday at a provincial men’s curling qualifier at Port Arthur Curling Club.
