The Sioux Lookout Flyers have earned a stay of execution. Facing a possible four-game sweep against the Fort William North Stars, the flyers forced a Game 5 after defeating the Thunder Bay club 2-1 in over-time Thursday evening.

HALIFAX – Andrew Hackner and Jamie Searle have seen the worst that Lakehead basketball has to offer.

The Thunder Bay North Starts are a game away from claiming a sweep over the Sioux Lookout Flyers. The North Stars defeated the Flyers Wednesday night by a score of 7-5, taking the third straight game in the best of seven series.

Jamie Searle caught about an hour’s sleep on Friday night. He might not get much more on Saturday. But that’s OK, he can sleep on the plane on Sunday afternoon, his arms wrapped around the Wilson Cup.
