It was supposed to be the battle for No. 1.

It’ll be a battle for top spot on Tuesday night at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Sault Ste. Marie. Thunder Bay’s Krista McCarville ensured the added importance of the game, against P.E.I.

It wasn’t quite a miracle shot that Krista McCarville made to score two in the tenth and secure yet another victory over B.C.’s Kelly Scott, but it should at least get her consideration for sainthood in the curling world.

Krista McCarville kept fighting back, but playing from behind for most of her match was just a little too much to overcome on Day 3 Monday at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

Krista McCarville made relatively easy work of Quebec’s Eve Belisle Sunday night, turning a five-point fourth end into a runaway 12-6 victory that kept her undefeated at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Sault Ste. Marie.

Krista McCarville hit and stuck her final shot of the match, scoring two points in the 10th end for a 7-6 win over Valerie Sweeting’s Alberta rink in Draw 4 of the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

They may have looked a lot like the Toronto Maple Leafs, but the Lakehead Thunderwolves sure didn’t play like them – at least in the final 48 minutes of play.
