Thunder Bay Fire and Rescue officials have charged three people for open burning without a permit.

The three city residents were found guilty in provincial court and handed fines ranging up to $350 after fire crews discovered open fires at their homes.

Fire Chief John Hay said they have a zero-tolerance policy for burning without a permit.

Permits can be purchased at any local fire hall.
