Police arrest and charge new suspect in Canada Day murder case
THUNDER BAY – A third suspect has been arrested in the Canada Day murder case. Thunder Bay Police Service officials in a media release on Monday confirmed they had arrested 26-year-old Kyle Malcolm Stoney last Friday at a Park Avenue apartment.

Boom truck knocks down power lines on Oliver Road
THUNDER BAY -- A rural area of the city is without power after a boom truck took out a number of power lines. The truck was attempting to pull onto Oliver Road from a private driveway when the boom, which was still extended, got caught in the lines.

OLIVER PAIPOONGE, Ont. – A Murillo home was completely burnt to the ground in a Sunday afternoon fire. Oliver Paipoonge fire chief Mike Horan said the blaze appears to have started around 2 p.m. and completely engulfed the house.
