Bradley Tomeck was sentenced to five years in prison Monday for robbing a local credit union. The 22-year-old Thunder Bay man was convicted of armed robbery, wearing a disguise and three firearms offences on May 4.

MNR confirmed 40 new forest fires during weekend
Ontario’s Ministry of Natural Resources reported having a very active weekend for forest fires in the Northwest. Officials with the MNR say nearly 40 new fires were confirmed over the two days, 24 of those having started on Saturday.
