Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry news release follows: There were no new fires in the Northwest Region by the afternoon of May 16. FireRanger training continues at all fire bases. The forest fire hazard is low across the region.

FORT FRANCES, Ont. - The search for a missing 89-year-old Eva Lake area man continues. Florent Trottier was last seen in the Eva Lake Road area on the morning of May 11. The Rainy River detachment of the OPP began searching later that evening.
