Hockey tournament gets police attention off the ice
A hockey tournament in Sioux Lookout had more action off the ice than on. The event was held between March 12 and March 18. Officials with the OPP say officers responded to nearly 300 calls during those dates. Eight of those 300 calls were assaults.

Thunder Bay Field Naturalists purchase part of Bowman Island
A locally-based group has purchased two of the largest privately-held parcels of land on the Bowman Island in Lake Superior. The Thunder Bay Field Naturalist announced its purchase in a news release issued to media Wednesday morning.
