Firefighters have rescued a 19-year-old-woman who was 100 metres from shore in the icy waters of Lake Superior. Thunder Bay Fire and Rescue responded to a call about a woman who fell into the ice sometime after 9 a.m. Saturday.

Police say a vehicle struck a 44-year-old man while he attempted to cross the street on crutches. Thunder Bay Police Service officers say the collision happened at the intersection of Simpson Street and Northern Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Friday.
