The controversial beacons on Thunder Bay's redeveloped waterfront were lit up for the first time Thursday night. The 65-foot high beacons at Prince Arthur's Landing came with a price tag of more than $900,000.

Bomb threat forces evacuation of local Bombardier plant, shuts down transit
Police are searching Bombardier for a bomb and employees have been evacuated following a phone call Friday afternoon. Bombardier security received a call just after noon Friday from someone saying there was a bomb in the plant’s main building.
