To the editor I want the taxpayers to know that their total property taxes will be increasing, on average, 3.5 per cent this year – not 2.7 per cent as reported several times on the news in the past few weeks.

The Lakehead Thunderwolves men’s basketball team can hold their heads high. Yeah, they got crushed by Carleton in the CIS Final 8 championship game.

Is the fourth time the charm for the Lakehead Thunderwolves?? With Carleton in the way, the entire field is probably a 15-point underdog heading into this weekend’s CIS Final 8 men’s basketball championship.

To the editor: The mayor, with the exception of three councillors, have passed the 2013 city budget. According to the Chinese zodiac the Year of the Snake officially started Feb.

To the editor: Am applauding Fort William First Nation Chief Peter Collins and all the other opponents regarding those monsters called wind turbines. As a First Nations woman, have spent much time speaking against the development of them.
