Letters to the Editor

LETTER: Snow causes issues for those in wheelchairs

To the editor: I had an appointment with a specialist today that I could not miss, so I went. I had tried, unsuccessfully, to book a HAGI ride last week. I had no choice but to walk there in my chair, or take a bus.

LETTER: Take responsibility for your animals

To the editor: The young boy who was attacked by the dog recently at Tarbutt Park is a truly unfortunate set of circumstances, which could have been avoided.

OPINION: 30 years of good will

I attended a 30th anniversary last week. There was plenty of good food and a special cake for the 400 or so people who filled the ballroom. It was a good chance to catch up with old friends and colleagues.

LETTER: Bus route problems

To the editor: I had an experience this summer with the Memorial route bus. I had attended the Thunder Fest at the Da Vinci Centre. It ended at 11 p.m. Myself and others went to catch the bus. An out-of-service bus went by.

Kitty Kare needs help

To the editor: On Monday, Kitty Kare began competing for Aviva Community Fund’s $1-million challenge to build their greatly needed cat sanctuary.

LETTER: Double standards?

To the editor:? I am just wondering as to why there never appear to be comments allowed on tbnewswatch whenever the subject has to do with Aboriginal issues in the city.

LETTER: Job well done

To the editor: On behalf of the Bay and Algoma Business Association I would like to thank the Menei Brothers Construction Company for a job well done. It was a huge job and took all summer and fall to complete.

EDITORIAL: Power on conversion

The province isn’t saying the plan to convert Thunder?Bay’s coal-fired generating station to natural gas is dead. But the writing is on the wall.

OPINION: Secretive cities

Many people can recall a time when they were talked about behind their back. It never feels good and often results in suspicion and hard feelings. Nobody enjoys being treated like this. Ontario Ombudsman André Marin feels the same way.

EDITORIAL: The best man won
