Letters to the Editor

LETTER: Backward bus decision

To the editor: Thunder Bay Transit bought three new buses this year. As happy as I am that the old Orion buses are off our roads, I am horrified that the new buses require people in wheelchairs to ride backwards.

LETTER: Bike lane issue

To the editor: These bike lanes are a disaster to traffic flow, there is no thought whatsoever going into their layout, it is obvious that active transportation co-ordinator Adam Krupper has no concept of traffic flow and is simply catering to the co

LETTER: Comments denied

To the editor:? Why did tbnewswatch not allow for comments on it’s online story “Murder case goes cold after year after original suspect freed,” Thursday, May 16, 2013. For people who do not know the story, here is a synopsis.

EDITORIAL: Disasters averted

Mother Nature spared Thunder Bay residents her worst wrath this week. People living in the Squaw Bay area of Fort William First Nation weren’t so lucky. Heavy rainfalls hit the community, washing out roads.

OPINION: Cost of running shoes

I am fortunate enough to be associated with a dedicated group of professionals who plan, organize and present Forum North, a local health and safety conference.

LETTER: Hydro too high

To the editor: When do the hydro-rate increases stop? Does this increase come from the past Liberal government because of their cancellation of some projects in Southern Ontario, wind farms in Thunder Bay, or maybe it is the incompetance of our elect

LETTER: Save what we’ve got

To the editor: Asinine is described in the Oxford Paperback Dictionary as silly or stupid.

EDITORIAL Affordable housing necessary

There’s been a lot of talk this week about what to do with the Royal Edward Arms. The historic building was once the heart and soul of the city’s south side. Today many would say it’s a junkie’s paradise.

LETTER: Let cops do their jobs

To the editor: For crying out loud, let the police do the job they were paid to do.They do need to be more aggressive with people that are drunk and unruly.

LETTER: Peterborough, please

To the editor: I believe that the Atikokan canoe would be best viewed and honoured by all Canadians by making it part of the Canadian Canoe Museum in Peterborough, Ont. One of the paddlers resides nearby and the boat will be preserved for eternity.
