SUV demolished in Friday evening crash, suspected pick-up truck driver involved fled scene

OPP Media Release (THUNDER BAY, ON) – On Sunday, December 4, 2016 at approximately 2:10 am, officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 61.

Alexander (Sandy) Zaitzeff is scheduled to be back in court on Tuesday for a bail hearing.

Thunder Bay Police responded to a robbery Wednesday night on Prince Arthur Boulevard.

Thunder Bay Police Service were slightly busier on the north side responding to 20 thefts.

After a traffic stop, a foot chase, a game of hide-and-seek and even a false identity, police charged a 22-year-old man with trafficking cocaine among other offences.

Greenstone OPP charge third youth in connection with a string of tire slashings, which happened earlier this month.

Two U.S. residents have been fined a total of $4,600 for a fishing offence. Richard Rude and Brenda Rude of Oberlin, Kansas, pleaded guilty to possessing an over-limit of fish and were fined $2,400 and $2,200 respectively.

Shortly after midnight, the Thunder Bay Police Service arrested a 26-year-old man after noticing stolen licence plates.

Thunder Bay Police responded to more than 178 criminal incidents including 18 assaults and five weapons charges.
