THUNDER BAY -- Lightning doesn’t strike in the same place twice. Two years ago the Lakehead Thunderwolves scored their biggest win in program history, shocking the then No. 4 Ottawa Gee Gees while sparking an unlikely playoff run.

When the going got tough, Anthony McIntosh stepped up his game. The fifth-year senior was a force to be reckoned with in the fourth quarter Saturday night, though all he did might not necessarily show up on the score sheet.

The hockey Thunderwolves are on a roll. The Wolves thumped the host Nipissing Lakers 5-1 on Saturday to secure the weekend sweep, capturing their third straight OUA win to pull within a game of .500.

And just like that the Lakehead Thunderwolves are in first place. But the Brock Badgers made them work for it Saturday night at the Thunderdome, at least for 20 minutes.
