Three tragic drowning deaths last weekend are a grim reminder of the power of our local waterways.

To the editor: In regards a story last month about dangerous driving causing death charge against a Kenora police officer I think the charge will likely be dismissed and the SIU knows it will likely be dismissed.

To the editor:? There seem to be no walk-ons allowed on city golf courses. No wonder they are going bankrupt. My brother and I tried to walk-on three times now at Strathcona, but to no avail. We were told they don’t do walk-ons.

To the editor: Despite what Kenora MP Greg Rickford and Cliffs Natural Resources say – we’ve heard it before, and as most of us know, this region has a legacy of industrial and mining pollution.

I have heard it said that if you use a word 10 times it will be yours forever. But when it comes to the word accountability, I beg to differ.

Hey, Mayor Hobbs, the real story about Canada’s Afghanistan debacle needs to be finally told.

Sometimes after a human disaster the troubling effects of the tragedy can unexpectedly surface some time later and many miles away.

My feeling, is this neighborhood has seen better days; the decline of a part of the city from thriving neighborhood to encroaching ghetto.

As a community member that finds beauty in the city`s natural and built heritage, as well as being employed to create engaging historical tour for youth, I find the decision to tear down the Lyceum Theatre deeply saddening.

How dare this city council take away from our seniors and the Meals on Wheels program. We want to give needles to drug addicts, set up drug clinics, fancy up the marina and keep luxury services running with no profit.
