Letters to the Editor

LETTER: JFK conspiracy continues to this day

To the editor: Fifty years after John F. Kennedy’s murder, justice still has not been served. David Talbot, in his 2007 book Brothers, quotes a letter which Robert Kennedy sent to the Soviet government just days after the assassination.

OPINION: Put the kettle on

I can still remember the three sisters sitting around our kitchen table in Westfort – my mom, my Aunt Mary and my Aunty Lena.

LETTER: Stable energy supply needed to stimulate development

To the editor: The recent announcement of the conversion of the Thunder Bay Generating Station to advanced biomass does little to address the uncertainty of energy supply for the business community in Thunder Bay and region.

Letter: Cutting trees wasteful

To the editor: I was in attendance Monday night at the city hall tamarack tree vigil. It was encouraging to see young Thunder Bay residents stand up for what they believe in, and defend their future.

LETTER: Fishing restrictions hurt

To the editor:? I must say I definitely agree and have first hand evidence that fishing restrictions are hurting Ontario tourism. Being a operator of White Wolf Resort in Geraldton, I received a call from a long-standing customer from Ohio.

LETTER: New bridge needed

To the editor: I wish they would have let the whole James Street Swing Bridge burn, but make it so that the fire didn’t go past either ends of the bridge.

LETTER: Rob Ford is human

To the editor: I am a 34-year-old student and single mother. I was raised in Thunder Bay until the age of 19, when I moved to B.C. to finish high school.

EDITORIAL: New bridge necessary

It’s time to start seriously considering a replacement for the James Street Swing Bridge. Still closed to vehicle traffic after an?Oct. 29 fire, the bridge provides a vital link between Thunder?Bay and Fort?William First Nation.

OPINION: A crying shame

Just like many of my fellow Canadians I am saddened and dismayed by the antics of some dishonourable members in Ottawa. But all this turmoil has shown me something.

LETTER: Smoke-free hospital

To the editor: I am sending a big thank you to our city council. Thank you for doing the right thing by declaring the hospital property smoke-free. My name is Keith Taylor and I am co-chair of the volunteer patient-family advisory council.
