To the editor: This is addressed to the anonymous letter writer who complained about Lakehead University doing little after a reported sexual assault.

EDITORIAL: Lakehead missteps

Lakehead University president Brian Stevenson is deeply disturbed. And well he should be, if sexual assault allegations made by a student – and the school’s seeming unwillingness to help her cope with the situation – are true.

LETTER: Did council pull end-around on tamaracks?

To the editor: I was wondering what the heck council was doing going ahead with the plan to cut down the 11 tamarack trees in question, then a light came on! I know exactly the reason for their strange behavior.

To the editor: Oh, Thunder Bay city council, I'm normally filled with pride when I think of my isolated hometown of Thunder Bay, but the decision made by city council to remove those trees on Mohawk Crescent fills me with shame.

To the editor: This past Saturday’s Chronicle Journal featured a disturbing letter to the editor. The letter, which I found deeply distressing, speaks to additional pain victims of sexual assault should never experience.

OPINION: Get your spook on

Halloween is not suitable for kids. Only adults with nerves of steel should have the crap scared out of them. When I was a boy I was shy and timid and spooky things like ghosts and goblins were avoided at all costs.

LETTER: Put your phones down

To the editor: I own a small farm on the outskirts of Thunder Bay. Weekly I drive into the city to pick up supplies and help my aging mom. More often than not I run into problems with distracted drivers using phones on the highway.

To the editor: I am a hunter so thank you to the people who reported the men caught riding the moose in Northwestern Ontario; this is not right to any animal. I am sure they would not like it if someone did this to them.
