Scratch ticket nets Thunder Bay man $50K

A Thunder Bay resident recently scratched themself a $50,000 jackpot. Terry Nishnibata, of Thunder Bay, won the $50,000 jackpot from an instant Crossword ticket. Some of the words that led to the win included pan, cook, apricot and zucchini.

Fire destroys home on Oliver Road

A house on Oliver Road was destroyed by fire early Monday morning. Volunteer firefighters from Oliver Paipoonge rushed to the scene, but were unable to save the home. The fire started shortly after 5 a.m.
