Letters to the Editor

The Bambi effect

Bravo, Councillor Rydholm. I was driving down Rosslyn Road the other day and I noticed it was smooth and wrinkle-free. There are many other similar rides on city streets this summer. I have heard Ms.

To the editor: As Thunder Bay positions itself as one of Canada’s best outdoor cities, and with the world movement towards green practices, the integrity of the parkland setting of the waterfront development is now being polluted with overdone commer

Letter: Limited access

To the editor: As I walk around this city, I see parks and playgrounds that are not wheelchair accessible. There’s sand under the equipment, making it very inaccessible for people who have disabilities.

To the editor: This is an open letter to James Bradley, Minister of Community Safety, Correctional Services and Emergency Management regarding Cat Lake and other northern communities. I have been in contact with officials from Cat Lake First Nation.

Letter: Disgusted

To the editor: I was disgusted to read in last week’s edition of the Source that the city has decided to spent $904K of taxpayers money on a pair of bent poles being passed off as art.

To the editor: I find it very sad and disgusting that our city is spending sinful amounts of taxpayers’ dollars on what they think is art in order to make our waterfront acceptable.

Letter: Where’s my apology?

To the editor: I’d like to commend Mayor Keith Hobbs for putting the matter of the Bob Herman lawsuit to rest. Certain members of the media seem to imply he is now eating crow. I beg to differ.

Editorial: Bad attention could be good … eventually

New crime statistics have given the city a black eye. Statistics Canada released its crime rate numbers for 2010, which shows Thunder Bay has regained the infamous title as no. 1 in Canada for homicides.
