Editorial: Critters in huge crisis

There’s a lot of stray dogs and cats facing the possibility of nowhere to go but the city-operated animal shelter should the Thunder?Bay and District Humane Society be forced to close its doors.

Letter: NDP misfired

To the editor, I thank Mr. Bruce Hyer and Mr. John Rafferty for their position and action on the long gun registry. They are simply voting the wishes of their constituents. Enlighten me.

To the Editor, I was more than moved by the news story released on Nov. 4 regarding our local Humane society, which is obviously in serious financial trouble and in need of our support.

To the editor: I’ve read the umpteenth item about a Mac’s store getting robbed. Obviously Mac’s management is not recognizing or acknowledging the danger they are placing their employees in.

Editorial: Leave it to polar bear?

Choosing the polar bear over the beaver for Canada’s national symbol might be the sexy thing to do.

Letter: Ban the hoodies

To the editor, why is it that all of the robberies take place on the south side of the city? They all occur in the Fort William area. For starters, the city should ban hoodies. Albert Lipka, Thunder Bay

Letter: Safety needs to be a priority

To the Editor, The Terrace Bay Pulp mill, in the past was a productive and reasonably up to date mill. This mill has undergone many setbacks and long-term shutdowns. But, the taxpayers’ dollar seems to ensure the rebirth of an outdated mill.

I am compelled to write this letter about my most recent use the Canada’s health-care system and more specifically the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
