2018 Nominees

I would like to nominate Cassandra Nordal for this years Holiday Hero contest. Cassandra Nordal has been advocating for animals for the past few years in Thunder Bay.

All too often selfless acts go unnoticed by those who do these selfless acts naturally and for no other reason than because their good people.

I would like to nominate "Angels in Aprons" as our holiday heroes. This group of people regularly volunteers at Shelter House in Thunder Bay. They go shopping for food - they pay for the food out of their own pockets.

My holiday hero is a person who sacrifices her everyday to help our injured wildlife... spending every waking moment.. sacrificing every part of her life from time with family to even having a relationship.

I would like to nominate Joshua Donald Hewitt who is the go funder of standup4cleanup. This amazing young man and his team have been seen out in our wonderful city helping and providing a safer and cleaner city for our city.

I would like to nominate Troy Way the owner of Local Dog Rescue. Troy has been rescuing and advocating for animals in our city longer than anyone else I know and yet is still unknown to so many.

Ashlee Burton is the driving force and visionary behind the Green Dream Team/Helping Hearts.

I would like to nominate a team of people in our community who have made it their mission to assist those in need here in Thunder Bay.

Barry Massaro is my nomination of a local holiday hero. Barry spends countless hours as assistant coach with the Northwest Narwhal swim team and has now for approximately 8 years.

I am nominating Mrs. Sandie Hastie-Black for the 2018 Holiday Heroes award.
